Biathlon World Championships 2024 – Men's Mass Start
The Men's mass start competition at the Biathlon World Championships 2024 will be held on 18 February 2024. Sebastian Samuelsson was the defending champion. He did not defend his title, finishing the competition in 23rd place. Reigning Olympic champion in mass start Johannes Thingnes Bø from Norway became the new world champion. He won his 20th championship gold medal, equaling Ole Einar Bjørndalen for first place with the most world championship gold medals in history. Simon Eder
Simon Eder (born 23 February 1983) is an Austrian biathlete. Career His first World Cup win was in the Khanty-Mansiysk mass-start race on 29 March 2009. Eder represented Austria at the 2010 Winter Olympics and in 2014 Winter Olympics. He won 2 medals: silver in the Men's relay in 2010, and a bronze in Men's relay in 2014. Both of the relays together with Daniel Mesotitsch, Dominik Landertinger and Christoph Sumann. He is known for his fast shooting times, having recorded sub-20 second performances on the shooting range. He is the son of former biathlete and Austrian national biathlon coach Alfred Eder. Michal Krčmář
Michal Krčmář (; born 23 January 1991) is a Czech biathlete and an Olympic silver medalist in the sprint at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. He was a part of the silver junior men's relay at Biathlon Junior World Championships 2012. Since 2013–14 season he has competed regularly at Biathlon World Cup and has amassed 300 World Cup Starts. He has competed at ten World Championships and three Olympic Games, including the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Justus Strelow (born 30 December 1996) is a German biathlete. He made his Biathlon World Cup debut in 2021 in Östersund. At the Junior World Championships in Osrblie in 2017, he won with team Germany a bronze medal in the relay.
