Sumy Oblast (), also known as Sumshchyna (), is an oblast (province) in northeast Ukraine. The oblast was created in its modern-day form, from the merging of raions from Kharkiv Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, and Poltava Oblast in 1939 by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union. Dmytro Pidruchnyi (; born 5 November 1991) is a Ukrainian biathlete. He participated at 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In March 2022, Pidruchnyi joined the Ukrainian National Guard to fight during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Career Pidruchnyi was born in village Ostriv near Ternopil. Dmytro's first international competition was 2010 Junior World Championships in Swedish Torsby. He didn't have much success then. He also wasn't very successful next season. But at 2012 Junior Worlds in Kontiolahti he finally showed good results which allowed him to start in IBU Cup and debut in World Cup. On 13 December 2012, he was with 6 misses just 98th in Pokljuka, Slovenia. Nevertheless he competed some more sprints that season. His performances improved in 2013–14 season. Vitalii Mandzyn
Vitalii Mandzyn (; born 5 April 2003) is a Ukrainian biathlete. He made his Biathlon World Cup debut in 2022. Career Vitalii Mandzyn made his international debut at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, where he finished fifth in the sprint and missed out on a medal by less than 20 seconds. He then took part in the 2020 World Youth Championships and finished seventh in the relay and 17th in the pursuit race. Vitalii also competed at the World Youth Championships the following year, but again missed out on the top 10. In the winter of 2021/22, he competed in the IBU Junior Cup and achieved a podium finish with the relay team. Mandzyn won his first medal in the IBU-level in the junior competitions at the 2020 Summer Biathlon World Championships, where he was only beaten by the Czechs Tomáš Mikyska and Jonáš Mareček in the pursuit. Artem Tyshchenko
Artem Tyshchenko (; born 22 December 1993) is a Ukrainian biathlete. He participated at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Career Tyshchenko was a two-time bronze medalist of the 2012 Junior World Championships. During the next three years he won five medals at European championships. He debuted at the World Cup in the 2013-14 season in sprint in Antholz, Italy, where he placed 90th. It was the only time he played for the national team that year. The next season he got a permanent spot in national team. In Oberhof he reached his personal best as of January 2018 - coming 10th in sprint. On February 6, 2015, he had his first World Cup relay podium in single mixed relay which debuted at the World Cup. He was third with Yuliya Dzhyma. At the end of the season Tyshchenko was named by IBU "best young biathlete".
