Bianca Mosca
Bianca Mosca, born Bianca Lea Rosa Mottironi,England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1858-1995 was a London-based fashion designer who rose to prominence during the 1940s and was the only woman member of the Incorporated Society of London Fashion Designers (IncSoc), which represented the interests of the British couture industry. In her heyday she was described as "one of the big 10 of the British fashion world","Madame Bianca Mosca", ''Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer'', 20 June 1950, page 4 the others being Digby Morton, Norman Hartnell, Charles Creed, Molyneux, Worth, Mattli, Victor Stiebel, Hardy Amies, and Peter Russell. Incorporated Society Of London Fashion Designers
The Incorporated Society of London Fashion Designers (also known as IncSoc, Inc Soc and ISLFD) was a membership organisation founded in 1942 to promote the British fashion and textile industry and create luxury couture to sell abroad for the World War II, war effort. It aimed to build the relationship between government and fashion industry and represent the interests of London couturiers. The organisation continued after the war and sought to present itself as an alternative to the revived Paris couture industry. Audrey Withers
Dame Elizabeth Audrey Withers OBE (28 March 1905 – 26 October 2001), known as Audrey Withers, was an English journalist, also active as a member of the Council of Industrial Design. She edited the British magazine ''Vogue'' between 1940 and 1960 and was the author of ''The Palaces of Leningrad'' (1973) and an autobiography. While she used her own name professionally, in some other contexts she was known by her married names, Mrs A. H. Stewart from 1933 to 1952 and Mrs Victor Kennett from 1953 until her death. Edward Henry Molyneux () (5 September 1891 – 23 March 1974) was a leading British fashion designer whose salon in Paris was in operation from 1919 until 1950. He was characterised as a modernist designer who played with the refinements of couture style, a modernist aesthetic, and the desire to be socially and culturally advanced. Early life Edward Molyneux was born on 5 September 1891 in Hampstead, London, to Justin Molyneux and Lizzy Kenny. He was of Irish and French Huguenot ancestry. His uncle was Major Edward Mary Joseph Molyneux, who became known for his paintings of the Kashmir region.
