The Indian state of Rajasthan is located in the northwestern part of the country and stretches between 23°03'N and 30°12'N latitude and 69°30'E and 78°17'E longitude. Bharatpur II is a community development block that forms an administrative division in the Kandi subdivision of Murshidabad district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Bharatpur Airport () is a domestic airport located in Bharatpur serving Chitwan District, a district in Bagmati Province in Nepal. The airport is one of two airports in the vicinity of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, the other being Meghauli Airport. It serves as the main tourist gateway to Chitwan National Park. History This airport was built in 1958 as part of the resettlement and malaria control program in the Chitwan Valley, with the assistance of the Government of the United States of America. The first passenger flight landed at the airport on 5 March 1965. From 1981 to 1985, the airport was shut down due political instabilities in Southern Nepal. In 2005, a new terminal was built and the 1158-metre runway was paved to enable medium-sized aircraft. Bharatpur (archaeological Site)
Bharatpur is an archaeological site of Early village farming culture located in the Indian state of West Bengal. Construction of the settlement is believed to have started around 1735–1417 BC. The prehistoric settlement at Bharatpur village was discovered in 1971 by the Eastern Circle of Archaeological Survey of India and the University of Burdwan. Excavations were carried out at Bharatpur in 1971–72, 1972–73, 1973–74 and 1974–75. Black and red pottery, terracotta objects and cut bone weapons were discovered during the excavations. Archaeology The Eastern Circle of Archaeological Survey of India and the University of Burdwan jointly undertook a program of survey exploration and excavation in the 1970s. These excavations proved the presence of ancient settlement. Bharatpur, Purba Bardhaman
Bharatpur is a village in Galsi I CD block in Bardhaman Sadar North subdivision of Purba Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal. History Bharatpur is an ancient place. The University of Burdwan, in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India, carried out excavations at Bharatpur. Several statues of Gautama Buddha were found and the remains of a Buddhist stupa was unearthed. In 1994–95, the Burdwan Gazeteer had commented that the style of construction indicated that the stupa at Bharatpur was built during 7-9th century.
