Gandaki Province
Gandaki Province ( ) ), is one of the seven federal provinces established by the current constitution of Nepal which was promulgated on 20 September 2015. Pokhara is the province's capital city. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region in Southwest China to the north, Bagmati Province to the east, Karnali Province to the west, and Lumbini Province and Bihar of India to the south. The total area of the province is 21,504 km2 - constituting 14.57% of Nepal's total area. According to the latest census, the population of the province was 2,479,745. The newly elected Provincial Assembly adopted Gandaki Province as the permanent name by replacing its initial name Province No. 4 on 27 April 2023. Bhanu Municipality
Bhanu is a municipality of Tanahun District in Gandaki Province of western Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Bhanu village development committee or VDC, Barbhanjyang VDCs, Rupakot (VDC), Tanahunsur Village Development Committee, Purkot VDC, Mirlung VDC, Satiswara VDC, Risti VDC, Basantapur VDC and Chok Chisapani VDC. The center of the municipality is established in former VDC Office of Bhanu. After merging the population of all of the VDCs, it had a total population of 46,179 according to 2011 Nepal census. After the government decision the number of municipalities has reached 217 in Nepal. Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya was born in Bhanu Municipality. It was named after him. Manang District ( , in Gandaki Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Chame as its district headquarters, covers an area of and in 2011 had a population of 6,538. The Thorung La pass, at 5,415 meters above sea level, connects the district with Mustang district by providing a route between the towns of Manang and Muktinath. Manang district gets the lowest amount of rainfall among the districts of Nepal as it lies to the north of the Himalayas, which block monsoon winds. Besishahar () is a municipality and the district headquarters of Lamjung District in Gandaki Province, Nepal. The Besishahar Municipality was formed by merging the existing Village Development Committees i.e. Besishahar, Gaunshahar, Udipur, Puranakot,Nalma,Chandisthan, Baglungpani (wards no. 3, 4, 7, 8 & 9), Bajhakhet, Hiletaksar (wards no. 9) and Chiti and have 11 wards. Bandipur () is a hilltop settlement and a Rural municipality (Nepal), rural municipality in Tanahu District, Tanahun District, Gandaki Province, Gandaki province of Nepal. National Highway 17 (Nepal)
The Prithvi Highway or NH17 (previously: H04)() is a highway connecting Naubise of Tribhuvan Highway, 26 km from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and Prithivi Chowk, Pokhara, a tourist city in the western part of Nepal. History The construction of the highway started in 1967 with the help of the Chinese government. The construction was completed in 1974. The highway is named after King Prithvi Narayan Shah.
