Beverlei Brown
Beverlei Brown is a British R&B and soul singer. Brown gleaned her singing skills from her mother, who sang in her church's choir in Birmingham, England. When she was old enough, Brown sang with the choir and eventually became the leader. She performed a solo with the Clark Sisters at the gospel wailers' UK concert and caught a sweet break with the Fine Young Cannibals, who needed some gospel singers for an album project; with Brown on board, the sessions were good enough to land FYC a record deal and Brown a gig on their worldwide promotional tour. She returned to Birmingham after the expedition, finished school, and worked as a receptionist for a law office before accepting a touring gig with Ruby Turner that lasted two years. Her reputation grew quickly and Brown found work with Simply Red, Snap!, Joe Cocker, the Brand New Heavies, Babyface, Chaka Khan, and others. The Eurovision Song Contest 2007 was the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. ''Red Light Fever'' is the debut and only studio album released by musical group Hot Leg, led by singer-songwriter Justin Hawkins, of The Darkness. The album was released in Europe on 9 February 2009 and in the United States on 17 February 2009. Background Writing of ''Red Light Fever'' began when lead vocalist Justin Hawkins left The Darkness. Several demos were leaked onto the internet mid-2007, leading many people to believe he was releasing a solo album; however, in August 2008 it was announced that Hawkins had formed a new band. In January 2009, it was announced via the band's MySpace page that the debut album would be released in Europe on 9 February. Hot Leg were an English rock band led by The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins. The band consisted of Hawkins, Pete Rinaldi (of Anchorhead), Samuel SJ Stokes (formerly of The Thieves) and Darby Todd (from Protect the Beat). Their debut album '' Red Light Fever'' was recorded in London in early 2008, and was released on 9 February 2009 by Barbecue Rock Records. Career Hot Leg released the song "Heroes" as a free download, but the track did not appear on their album, '' Red Light Fever''. Justin David Hawkins (born 17 March 1975) is an English musician, Internet personality, singer, and songwriter best known as the founder, lead singer, and lead guitarist of The Darkness, of which his younger brother Dan is also a member. He is also the lead singer and guitarist for the band Hot Leg, formed in 2008 and now on hiatus.
