Duane Betts
Duane Betts (born April 16, 1978) is an American guitarist and singer-songwriter. He leads Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel, and is a co-founding member of The Allman Betts Band. He was also a guitarist and singer for Dickey Betts & Great Southern, led by his father, Dickey Betts. He was previously a member of several other groups, including Backbone69, Whitestarr, Brethren of the Coast, Dawes, Jamtown, and Duane Betts & the Pistoleers. Betts has also appeared as a session musician on many projects, including several Puddle of Mudd albums. Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Nicholson Betts (25 October 1906 – 22 August 1973) was a coffee plantation manager, British Indian Army officer, a political agent, and an ornithologist. Biography F. N. Betts (known to friends and family as "Tim"), was born in Launceston, Cornwall, in the UK to Barbara Treby Morshead and Herbert Nicholas Betts. He studied at Winchester College from 1920 to 1924. He went to Ceylon and worked in the tea plantations there and later in the coffee plantations in Coorg. He was commissioned in India as a captain in the Punjab Regiment, second lieutenant (12 September 1929, Lt. 20 June 1930, moving from the reserve to the Indian Army on 1 August 1932) and in 1940, was posted to Eritrea. Alejandro Jacobo Betts (born Alexander Jacob Betts, 28 October 1947 – 13 March 2020) was a Falklands-born Argentine air-traffic controller and activist who worked with the Argentine government as a technical advisor on the Tierra del Fuego's Malvinas Question Provincial Observatory Advisory Council. Betts supported Argentina's claim to the Falkland Islands and was a controversial figure in the Falklands as a result. Betts also was the older brother of Terry Betts, who served as a member of the Falkland Islands Legislative Council and assisted British forces in the Falklands War. Gilbert Frederick Betts (21 December 1916 – 5 January 1982) was an English cricketer. Betts was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born at Fulbrook, Oxfordshire. Betts made his debut in county cricket for Oxfordshire in the 1950 Minor Counties Championship against Devon. From 1950 to 1956, Betts made 31 appearances for the county in the Minor Counties Championship, the last of which came against Wiltshire. In 1951, he made his only appearance in first-class cricket for a combined Minor Counties team against Kent at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury. Lauren Marie Betts (born October 15, 2003) is a Spanish-born British-American college basketball player for the UCLA Bruins of the Big Ten Conference. Early life and education Born in Port Chester, New York, he was nicknamed "Keter", a short form of the word mosquito. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1946, where he played drums, tympani, tuba, glockenspiel, and bass fiddle. Jonathan Betts MBE (born January 1955) is a British horological scholar and author, and an expert on the timekeepers created by John Harrison in the middle of the 18th century. Now practising as a horological consultant, Betts was formerly senior specialist in horology at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Between 2016 and 2019 he served on the board of trustees of the Institute of Conservation, and between 2006 and 2024 he served on the council of the Antiquarian Horological Society.
