Bettna
Bettna is a locality situated in Flen Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden with 412 inhabitants in 2010. It is also a parish with the same name. Bettna is located at a similar distance from Flen, Katrineholm and Nyköping (20-30 km) and about from the nearest village of Vrena across the Nyköping municipal line. The boundary goes a few hundred metres from the village entrance by national road 52. The topography around the village is generally flat with occasional rolling hills and little elevation is covered when travelling to either of the three nearby municipal centres. It lies at roughly above sea level. Bettna is also adjacent to the lake Yngaren and also has other lakes in its vicinity. The oldest part of the church was built in the 12th century. Its organ was approved by the Swedish king Gustaf III shortly before his assassination in 1792. The organ was reconstructed in 1988. Flen Municipality
Flen Municipality () is a municipality in central Södermanland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Flen. The present municipality was formed in 1971 through the amalgamation of the ''City of Flen'' (instituted in 1949), the market town ('' köping'') Malmköping and the surrounding countryside, including a southeastern portion of the former Oppunda hundred that was split between Flen and Nyköping municipalities. It also includes all of the former Villåttinge hundred. Geography Flen Municipality is a lowland inland municipality that falls to above sea level on the lakes of Långhalsen and Torpfjärden in the southeastern area. The highest peak is at on the tripoint between Flen, Gnesta and Strängnäs municipalities. Nils Von Dardel
Nils Elias Kristofer von Dardel (25 October 1888 – 25 May 1943), sometimes known as Nils de Dardel, was a 20th-century Swedish Post-Impressionism, Post-Impressionist painter and grandson of the famous Swedish painter Fritz von Dardel. Biography Dardel was born in Bettna, Södermanland, Sweden in 1888. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm between 1908–1910. Some of his most famous paintings are ''The Dying Dandy'', ''Crime Passionnel'', ''Svarta Diana'' and ''John blund''. Family life Nils Dardel was born into the Swedish noble family von Dardel, son of the landowner Fritz August von Dardel and Sofia Matilda Norlin. His grandfather was the Swedish painter Fritz von Dardel, adjutant to the later king Charles XV of Sweden and member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm, where Nils later studied between 1908–1920, and of which he eventually became a member in 1934.
