Wipers (band)
Wipers was an American punk rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1977 by guitarist and vocalist Greg Sage, along with drummer Sam Henry and bassist Dave Koupal. The group's tight song structure and use of heavy distortion were hailed as extremely influential by numerous critics and musicians. In particular, Nirvana's lead singer, Kurt Cobain acknowledged that they had heavily influenced him. They are also considered to be the first Pacific Northwest punk band. History Origins Sage's intense interest in music began with cutting records at home as an adolescent. Inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Sage soon picked up the guitar; further, in 1969, at age 17, he played on an eponymous album by professional wrestler Beauregarde. Foundation, early years Sage founded Wipers in Portland in 1977 along with drummer Henry and bassist Koupal, originally just as a recording project. The plan was to record 15 albums in 10 years without touring or promotion. Sage thought that the mystique b ...

Madness (Sleeping With Sirens Album)
''Madness'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Sleeping with Sirens. The album was released on March 17, 2015 through Epitaph Records. The album was self-produced by the band and John Feldmann. The album is the band's first release following their departure from Rise Records in 2014. It is their first album record to feature guitarist Nick Martin of D.R.U.G.S. and Underminded who replaced former guitarist Jesse Lawson. Foolish Behaviour
'' Foolish Behaviour '' is the tenth studio album by Rod Stewart, released on 21 November 1980, through Riva label in the United Kingdom and on Warner Bros. Records in the United States. The tracks were recorded at The Record Plant Studios and Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles from February to September 1980. "Passion", "My Girl", " Somebody Special", "Oh God, I Wish I Was Home Tonight" and " Gi' Me Wings" were released as singles. The video to another song on the album, "She Won't Dance With Me", was the third video to be played on MTV when it launched 1 August 1981. The lyrics contain the use of the word "fuck" which was edited out by means of a foghorn sound playing over the offending word, and a crudely superimposed heron covering Stewart's mouth. In order to maintain a sense of continuity, the heron can briefly be seen again at around the 2.00 mark, attacking the backing singers before flying off. Track listing All tracks written by Rod Stewart, Phil Chen, Kevin Savigar, J ...

Bad Love (Randy Newman Album)
''Bad Love'' is the tenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Randy Newman, released on June 1, 1999. It was Newman's first solo album since 1995's ''Randy Newman's Faust'' and followed a 3-year hiatus during which Newman had focused on film soundtracks, receiving several Academy Award nominations. Background The album finds Newman bitter and satirical – as "biting as ever, yet unafraid to tackle personal and heartfelt concerns". Newman tackles issues such as the state of American culture in "My Country", which chronicles suburbia's growing dependence on television, and "The World Isn’t Fair", which takes a look at the world through the eyes of Karl Marx. Another subject is aging – "Shame" takes a negative look at an "older man courting a younger woman" via the barbed lyrics and an exchange between the lead vocalist and the backing singer. "I’m Dead (But I Don't Know It)" is more self-referential in dealing with aging rock stars and commenting: "Everything I ...

Snake Bite Love
''Snake Bite Love'' is the fourteenth studio album by British rock band Motörhead. It was released on 10 March 1998 via Steamhammer, their third with the label. Recording ''Snake Bite Love'' would be the final album co-produced with Howard Benson. By all accounts, the recording was rushed, with drummer Mikkey Dee quoted in the 2011 Motörhead book ''Overkill: The Untold Story of Motörhead'': Lemmy was far kinder to the LP in his autobiography ''White Line Fever'', feeling it "came out quite nicely" but admits it was recorded "all over the place." Lemmy recalls that the making of ''Snake Bite Love'' was quite normal for the band: He points particularly to "Desperate for You" and "Night Side" in this respect and explains how the title track started as a completely different song; Dee recorded the drums tracks against a totally different set of chords, then it went back to Sweden where Campbell stated he was sick of the song and didn't like it. Lemmy agreed and Campbell ...
