Bettel I Government
The First Bettel Government (or Bettel I Government) was the ruling government of Luxembourg from 4 December 2013 to 5 December 2018. It was led by List of prime ministers of Luxembourg, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and List of deputy prime ministers of Luxembourg, Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider. It was formed on 4 December 2013, after the 2013 Luxembourg general election, 2013 election which saw all 60 seats in the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, Chamber of Deputies renewed. The government was a traffic light coalition between the Democratic Party (Luxembourg), Democratic Party (DP), the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) and The Greens (Luxembourg), The Greens. The prime minister of Luxembourg (; ; ) is the head of government of Luxembourg. The prime minister leads the executive branch, chairs the Cabinet and appoints its ministers. Since 1989, the title of ''Prime minister, Prime Minister'' has been an official one, although the head of the government had been unofficially known by that name for some time. A constitutional referendum was held in Luxembourg on 7 June 2015. Although the referendum was non-binding, the government said they would adhere to the result. All three proposed constitutional amendments were ultimately rejected by voters. LuxLeaks
Luxembourg Leaks (sometimes shortened to Lux Leaks or LuxLeaks) is the name of a financial scandal revealed in November 2014 by a journalistic investigation conducted by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. It is based on confidential information about Luxembourg's tax rulings set up by PricewaterhouseCoopers from 2002 to 2010 to the benefits of its clients. This investigation resulted in making available to the public tax rulings for over three hundred multinational companies based in Luxembourg. The LuxLeaks' disclosures attracted international attention and comment about tax avoidance schemes in Luxembourg and elsewhere. This scandal contributed to the implementation of measures aiming at reducing tax dumping and regulating tax avoidance schemes beneficial to multinational companies.
