Johanna Elisabeth Repelius, known as Betsy (31 January 1848 in Amsterdam – 23 January 1921 in Amsterdam) was a Dutch painter and watercolorist who specialized in simple, one-figure, Genre art, genre scenes. Thérèse Schwartze
Thérèse Schwartze (20 December 185123 December 1918) was a Dutch people, Dutch portrait Painting, painter. Life Thérèse Schwartze was born on 20 December 1851 in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. She was the daughter of the painter Johan Georg Schwartze, who grew up in Philadelphia and trained in Düsseldorf. Schwartze received her first training from her father, before studying for a year at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten. She then travelled to Munich and studied under Gabriel Max and Franz von Lenbach. In 1879 she went to Paris to continue her studies under Jean-Jacques Henner. When she returned to Amsterdam she became a member of Arti et Amicitiae. Schwartze exhibited her work at the Museum of Science and Industry (Chicago), Palace of Fine Arts at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. Heineken Lager Beer (), or simply Heineken (), is a Dutch pale lager beer with 5% alcohol by volume produced by the Dutch brewing company Heineken N.V. Heineken beer is sold in a green bottle with a red star. History On 15 February 1864, Gerard Adriaan Heineken (1841–1893) bought De Hooiberg (The Haystack) brewery on the Nieuwezijds Achterburgwal canal in Amsterdam, a popular working class brand founded in 1592. In 1873 after hiring a Dr. Elion (student of French chemist Louis Pasteur) to develop Heineken a yeast for Bavarian bottom fermentation, the HBM (Heineken's Bierbrouwerij Maatschappij) was established, and the first Heineken brand beer was brewed. In 1875 Heineken won the Medaille D'Or at the International Maritime Exposition in Paris and it began to be shipped there regularly, after which Heineken sales topped 64,000 hectolitres (1.7 million U.S. gallons), making them the biggest beer exporter to France. Marie Heineken
Marie Henriëtte Heineken (8 June 1844 – 1 March 1930) was a Dutch painter mainly known for flower still lifes. Her paintings are characterised as impressionist. Biography Marie Heineken was born on 8 June 1844 on the Korte Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. She was a cousin of the founder of Heineken During a holiday when she was still a child, she met a painter, and became fascinated with painting. Her earliest work dates from 1859, and she would remain an active painter for the rest of her life. At the age of 24, she enlisted at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten and was taught by August Allebé. She was later taught by Petrus Franciscus Greive. Heineken painted with watercolor painting, watercolour and pastel. The emphasis was on flower still lifes, however she has also painted landscapes, cityscapes and portraits.
