Betina Riegelhuth
Betina Riegelhuth (born 17 June 1987) is a Norwegian handball player who plays for the Norwegian club Storhamar HE. She previously played for Ski, Njård IL, Bækkelaget and Team Esbjerg. She made her debut on the national team in 2010. Her first appearance in an international championship for the national selection was in the 2014 European Women's Handball Championship. She is a younger sister of Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth Koren. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. REMA 1000-ligaen (women's Handball)
REMA 1000-ligaen is the premier women's professional handball league for Norwegian handball clubs. It is administered by the Norwegian Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Norwegian champions. It was established in 1968, and it is currently contested by thirteen teams. Larvik HK, which has dominated the competition in recent years, is the championship's most successful team with eighteen titles, followed by IL Vestar and Byåsen IL with nine and five respectively. The league has previously been known as eliteserien, Gildeserien, Postenligaen and GRUNDIGligaen. World Women's Handball Championship
The IHF Women's Handball World Championship has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 1957. European teams have won every time except 1995 where South Korea won as the first team outside Europe and 2013 where Brazil won as the first American team. The biggest winners are Russia and Norway with four titles each. Nine teams participated in the first championship, this number has grown in steps to 32 (from 2021). In 1977 a B-tournament was introduced and later in 1986 a C-tournament which served as qualification for the real championship or A-tournament. The B- and C-tournament qualifications were replaced by the present qualification system based on continental confederations in 1993. From 1993 it has been held every other year. Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth Koren
Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth Koren (born 1 August 1984) is a retired Norwegian handball player for the Norwegian national team, who last played for Larvik HK. She is commonly known as Linka. Outside handball she is a qualified nurse. Career Club career Riegelhuth started playing handball at her hometown club Ski. She later played for Holmlia and Furuset until Larvik HK showed an interest for her. She was only 17 when she signed with Larvik for the 2002/03 season. Riegelhuth was top scorer in the Norwegian league in the 2005/06 season (shared first place with Linn Jørum Sulland, both 159 goals). In 2006/07 she was again top scorer (221 goals), and was voted ''Player of the year'' in the Norwegian league. She won the Cup Winners' Cup in 2008 with Larvik. She also participated on the Champions League 2008/09 and was top scorer of the competition until Larvik was eliminated. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
