The MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography is a craft award given to the artist, the artist's manager, and choreographer of the music video. From 1984 to 2007, the full name of the award was Best Choreography in a Video. The biggest winner is Frank Gatson with six wins. Michael Rooney follows closely behind with five wins. Frank Gatson is also the most nominated choreographer with eleven nominations. He is followed by Tina Landon with nine nominations (and yet only one win). The performers whose videos have won the most awards are Janet Jackson and Beyoncé, garnering a total of four Moonmen for choreography. Madonna's videos have received the most nominations with twelve. Michael Peters (choreographer)
Michael Douglas Peters (August 6, 1948August 29, 1994) was an American choreographer, dancer and director who is best known for his innovative choreography in music videos. Early Michael Peters was born on August 8, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the Fiorello H. La Guardia High School in Manhattan, one of nine specialized schools in New York City, which focuses on visual and performing arts. However, he disliked school and never graduated. Instead, he learned to dance at the Bernice Johnson Cultural Arts Center in Queens. Career Michael choreographed some of the most memorable videos during the 80s. Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known as Fatboy Slim, is an English musician and DJ who helped popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. His music makes extensive use of Sampling (music), samples from eclectic genres, combined with pop structures, processed rhythms and "sloganistic" vocals.
