This is a list of personal computer games (video games for personal computers, including those running Windows, macOS, and Linux) that have sold or shipped at least one million copies. If a game was released on multiple platforms, the sales figures list are only for PC sales. This list is ''not'' comprehensive because sales figures are not always publicly available. Subscription figures for massively multiplayer online games such as ''Microsoft Flight Simulator, Flight Simulator'' or ''Lineage (video game), Lineage'' and number of accounts from free-to-play games such as ''Hearthstone (video game), Hearthstone'' are not taken into account as they do not necessarily correspond to sales. Personal Computer Games
''Personal Computer Games'' was a multi-format UK computer games magazine of the early/mid-1980s published by VNU. History ''Personal Computer Games'' was launched in July 1983. The magazine was part of VNU and had its headquarters in London. The second issue was published on 28 October 1983 with the magazine going monthly from February 1984. Computer coverage at the time were mainly consisted of the Spectrum, C64 and the BBC Micro, although there were others featured such as Atari 8-bit, Electron, Vic 20 and the newly released Amstrad CPC. The February 1985 issue was the last of the magazine. Chris Anderson and Bob Wade went on to launch the Commodore 64 magazine ''Zzap!64''. Eric Lorenz Barone ( , born December 3, 1987), known professionally as ConcernedApe, is an American video game designer and musician. He is best known for creating the 2016 video game ''Stardew Valley''. Early life and education Barone was born on December 3, 1987, in Los Angeles, California, and spent his childhood in Auburn, Washington, a suburb in the Seattle metropolitan area. He cites the '' Harvest Moon'' series as his childhood favorite that stayed with him into adulthood. While not musically trained, Barone played music growing up, and was a member of several bands, including a nu metal band and an experimental pop band. For the latter's album, he created his first ever video game, a LucasArts-inspired point-and-click game. Farm Life Sim
Farm life sims (also called farming sim or farm sim) are a subgenre of life simulation games which fuse social simulation, dating sim and farm simulation elements. The games generally feature a protagonist going out to a rural setting and taking upon a farm, oftentimes because of an inheritance from a deceased relative, or because of urban boredom. The player-character grows crops and raises livestock to make money, and can interact with a wide cast of characters who are inhabitants of the town, and work toward the main plot's objective, if one exists. The game plots often featured dying ghost towns that must be revitalized by the player's actions.
