Sonic Spinball
''Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball'', also known as ''Sonic Spinball'', is a 1993 pinball video game developed by Sega Technical Institute and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It is a spin-off of the ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' series. Players control Sonic the Hedgehog, who must stop Doctor Robotnik from enslaving the population in a giant pinball-like mechanism. The game is set in a series of pinball machine-like environments with Sonic acting as the pinball. It was developed by the American staff of Sega Technical Institute, as the Japanese staff was occupied with developing ''Sonic the Hedgehog 3'' and '' Sonic & Knuckles''. When Sega management realized that ''Sonic 3'' would not be completed in time for the 1993 holiday shopping season, they commissioned another ''Sonic'' game. After a hasty nine-month development, ''Sonic Spinball'' was released for the Sega Genesis in November 1993, with ports for the Game Gear and Master System releasing in 1994. ''Sonic Spinball'' r ...

NFL Prime Time '98
''NFL '98'' is a sports video game released for the Sega Genesis in 1997. Future Sega football titles would fall under the '' NFL 2K'' branding. Like Sega's previous two NFL releases ('' NFL '95'' and '' NFL '97''), ''NFL '98'' was released exclusively for the North American market. It was not only the last American football video game for the Sega Genesis, but it was one of the last sports games released for a 16-bit console. The game runs under a modified engine of '' Prime Time NFL starring Deion Sanders'' with updated 96-97 rosters. In July 1997, Joe Montana filed a $5 million lawsuit against Sega, claiming that Sega breached his license agreement in regard to the game. Reception Released after Sega had discontinued the Genesis, ''NFL '98'' was one of the last games for the system and was largely ignored by critics. A brief review in ''GamePro'' was dismal, stating that "Although loaded with sharp features, like customization menus and stat tracking, the gameplay, graphics, ...

Eternal Champions
''Eternal Champions'' is a 1993 fighting game developed and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It was one of the few fighting games of its time developed from the ground up as a home console title, rather than being released in arcades first and later ported to home systems. Sega released ''Eternal Champions'' in hopes of capitalizing on the fighting game mania that the game industry was in the midst of following the massive success of ''Street Fighter II'' (1991) and ''Mortal Kombat (1992 video game), Mortal Kombat'' (1992). The game tried to set itself apart with unique features such as a heavier emphasis on its story, characters pulled from different time periods, reflectable projectiles, force fields, fighters that carried weapons, a training mode where players had to defend themselves against robotic traps, a novel method of executing moves, and elaborate stage-specific finishing moves called "#overkill, Overkills".
