Besim Tibuk
Besim Tibuk (born 14 April 1946 in Fındıklı) is a Turkish businessman and former politician. He is the chairman of the board of directory of Net Holding, and the founder and the ex-chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He was born in 1946 at Arılı village of Fındıklı district of Rize as the child of a family of Laz origin. He completed his primary education in Murgul and secondary education in Kars, Artvin, and İzmit. He went to the United States with 1962–1963 AFS scholarship. He finished his high school education in the US. In 1968, he graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Diplomacy (now Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations). Liberal Democratic Party (Turkey)
Liberal Democratic Party (, LDP) is a classical liberal party in Turkey. LDP was founded in 1994 as “''Liberal Parti”'' by Turkish entrepreneur Besim Tibuk. According to data published in January 2024, the party has 3,601 members. Tibuk was the advisor of Turkish President Turgut Özal until Özal died on 17 April 1993. After the death of Turgut Özal, Besim Tibuk decided to found a new party to emphasize the liberal movement in Turkey. Tibuk first founded the party as "Liberal Party", but following the "1994 Liberal Democratic Party Ordinary Congress" the party's name then changed from the Liberal Party to "Liberal Democratic Party". After the failure of his party in the 2002 general elections, Tibuk resigned on 25 November 2002, leaving his office to Nizam Kağıtçıbaşı, who only remained 48 days in office and got voted out by Ercan Çalı. Tourism in Turkey is focused largely on a variety of historical sites, and on seaside resorts along its Aegean and Mediterranean Sea coasts. Turkey has also become a popular destination for culture, spa, and health care. In 2023, Turkey was the fifth most visited country in the world. OdaTV ''(also known as Odatv.com, Odatv or odaTV),'' an online news portal based in Turkey, was founded in 2007. It is one of the most followed news portals in Turkey and according to the Alexa statistics, it is the 119th most visited website in the country (Turkey).
