Besim Mala
Besim Mala (14 August 1971 – 17 April 2000) was one of the most well known commandants of Kosovo Liberation Army and the first Commander of the Special Force in the Kosovo Protection Corps, who was killed under suspicious circumstances as part of a killing series in the early 2000s. Early life Besim Mala was born on 14 August 1971 in the City of Drenas, Kosovo. He was raised in a family known for its opposition to the Serbian regime. His father, Bislim, was a diligent worker from a patriotic family. Mala completed his primary education in Drenas and continued his secondary studies at the "Skënderbeu" School Center. In 1989, prior to the Dissolution of Yugoslavia, Mala, like many young Albanians, left Kosovo to avoid mandatory military service in the Yugoslav army. Drenas
Drenas or Gllogovc/Gllogoc ( sq-definite, Drenasi or ''Gllogovci/Gllogoci'') or Glogovac ( sr-Cyrl, Глоговац) is a town and municipality in the District of Pristina in Kosovo. BOV (armoured Personnel Carrier)
The BOV (), is an all-wheel drive armoured vehicle manufactured in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia and today in Serbia. The second generation BOV is currently in development. First generation Description The BOV has a capacity of 10, including a driver, gunner and eight infantrymen. The vehicle has a four-wheel drive and is powered by the Deutz AG, Deutz type F 6L 413 F six-cylinder diesel engine developing 150 hp (110 kW) at 2650 rpm. Service history The BOV was used for internal security and armed forces, military duties. It was most commonly used by territorial defence units, in several variants equipped with machine guns, water cannons, smoke and tear gas dispensers for crowd control and riots. Golesh
Golesh () is a mountain in central Kosovo, high, near the town of Kosovo Polje and Pristina International Airport Adem Jashari. A branch of the Drenica River originates on the mountain. At the top, there is an FM/TV broadcasting centre. The mountain contains the world's largest vein magnesite deposit, with total reserves of around five million tonnes; mining began in 1923.
