Berty Albrecht
Berty Albrecht (15 February 1893 – 31 May 1943) was a French feminist and French Resistance martyr of the Second World War. Pre-war life Berthe Wild was born into a Protestant family of Swiss origin, but of the Marseille bourgeoisie. She studied in Marseille and then in Lausanne, and obtained her nursing diploma in June 1912. She worked in a military hospital during World War I. In 1919 she married a Dutch financier, Frédéric Albrecht, with whom she had two children, Frédéric (born in 1920) and Mireille (born in 1924). The couple lived first in the Netherlands, and then moved to London in 1924. It was in London that she met English feminists and became active in trying to improve the condition of women. Albrecht's husband's business failed after the 1929 financial crisis and the ensuing depression. They agreed that it would be better for her to return to France (initially to their house in Beauvallon, near Sainte-Maxime on the French Riviera) in order to save money. Separate ...

Charles Berty
Charles Berty (8 September 1911 – 18 April 1944) was a French racing cyclist. He rode in the 1935 Tour de France. As a routier and regional of the "Sud-Est" team, he finished the Tour de France three times (1935/36/39), while achieving a few top ten placings in the stages. During World War II Berty was active in the French Resistance. He was arrested and was sent to the Mauthausen concentration camp Mauthausen was a German Nazi concentration camp on a hill above the market town of Mauthausen, Upper Austria, Mauthausen (roughly east of Linz), Upper Austria. Mesthiyage Don Bertie Sangathissa Gunathilake (; 2 August 1924 – 6 March 2022), popularly known as Berty Gunathilake, was an actor and comedian in Sri Lankan cinema and television. He was most notable for the role "Baba" in television comedy sitcom ''Vinoda Samaya''. Personal life Gunathilake was born on 2 August 1924 in Ampitiya, Kandy. He received his primary education at Ampitiya Primary School and then secondary education at Sangharaja Pirivena in Kandy. After that he joined the Ayurvedic Medical College. After school times, he joined as an Assistant Teacher at Galpola College, Kuliyapitiya. Then he started a bookstore until he was bored by the job and then worked as a proofreader in the ''Sinhala Bauddaya'' newspaper. Berty Seneviratne
Berty Seneviratne (16 September 1916 – 22 February 1967 බර්ටි සෙනෙවිරත්න), popularly known by stage name Shanthi Kumar was an actor, filmmaker and choreographer in Sri Lankan cinema. Considered one of the three pioneer film directors in Sinhala cinema, he made the first talkie film of Sri Lankan film history. He has gone down in history as a dancer who amazed India and was honored by an Indian governor. Personal life Berty Seneviratne alias Shanthi Kumar Seneviratne was born on September 16, 1916, at the Lihinigiri Palace in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka.
