Bertoua Airport
Bertoua Airport is a public use airport located east-southeast of Bertoua, East Region, Cameroon. Owned by Camair-Co, Bertoua Airport's first airplanes—two Xi'an MA60s—landed on its runway on 7 August 2017. Flights are offered to all regions of Cameroon besides the South and Southwest Region. Bertoua
Bertoua is the capital of the Eastern Region of Cameroon and of the Lom-et-Djerem Department. It has a population of 88,462 (at the 2005 Census), and is the traditional home of the Gbaya people. It is home to an airport and Mission Cameroon (in Polish: Misja Kamerun) of Polish Dominican Order. In 2014, the hospital in Bertoua became known for its work serving the medical needs of refugees from the Central African Republic crossing into Cameroon at border towns such as Gbiti. The East Region () occupies the southeastern portion of the Cameroon, Republic of Cameroon. Cameroon
Cameroon, officially the Republic of Cameroon, is a country in Central Africa. The Cameroon Airlines Corporation, trading as Camair-Co, is an airline from Cameroon, serving as flag carrier of the country, a role which was previously filled by the now-defunct Cameroon Airlines. Camair-Co has its headquarters in the Immeuble La Rotonde in Douala, and operates out of Douala International Airport. The airline has never made a profit, and is struggling under the weight of its debts; most of its aircraft are currently grounded. The company slogan is , ''The Star of Cameroon.'' Xi'an MA60
The Xi'an MA60 (, ''Xīnzhōu liùshí'', "Modern Ark 60") is a turboprop-powered airliner produced by China's Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation under the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). The MA60 is a stretched version of the Xi'an Y7-200A, which was produced based on the An-24 to operate in rugged conditions with limited ground support and has short take-off and landing (STOL) capability. The airplane received its type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in June 2000. Regions Of Cameroon
The Republic of Cameroon is divided into ten regions. History Between 1961 and 1972, Cameroon was a federal republic made up of two federated states, East Cameroon and West Cameroon. A unitary system came into being in 1972. The country was then divided into provinces. In 1983, Centre-South Province was divided into Centre and South and at the same time, Adamawa and Far North Provinces were split from North Province. The South Region () is located in the southwestern and south-central portion of the Republic of Cameroon. The Southwest Region or South-West Region () is a region with special status in Cameroon. Its capital is Buea. , its population was 1,553,320. Along with the Northwest Region, it is one of the two Anglophone (English-speaking) regions of Cameroon.
