Prince Bertil, Duke of Halland (Bertil Gustaf Oskar Carl Eugén; 28 February 1912 – 5 January 1997), was a member of the Swedish royal family. He was the third son of King Gustaf VI Adolf and his first wife, Princess Margaret of Connaught, as well as the uncle of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. Bertil Fox (born 5 January 1951) is a British former IFBB professional bodybuilder and convicted murderer. He was pardoned for that crime by the Governor General of Saint Kitts and Nevis on 4 August 2022. Biography Born 5 January 1951, on the eastern Caribbean island of St. Kitts, Fox emigrated to London, England, with his family when he was one year old. He then moved to Northampton. Vice Admiral Alfred Erik Bertil Berthelsson (11 April 1902 – 11 February 1977) was a senior naval officer in the Swedish Navy. Berthelsson served as Captain of the Coastal Fleet (1951–1953), as Chief of the Naval Staff (1953–1957), as Chief of the Coastal Fleet (1957–1961) and as commanding officer of the Naval Command South (1961–1966). John Bertil Boo (16 January 1914 in Askersund – 20 July 1996 in Sundbyberg) was a Swedish singer.''Nationalencyclopedin'' biographical entry about Bertil Boo Bertil Boo grew up as the youngest of 15 siblings on a farm, which he took over after the death of his father. It was not until 1946, at the age of 32, that Boo became popular as a singer, when he sang the sentimental song ''Violer till mor'' (''Violets for Mother'') in the Swedish radio show ''Frukostklubben''. Boo had already recorded the song on the Sonora label, which at the time was one of the leading Swedish record labels, and after the performance on ''Frukostklubben'', ''Violer till mor'' sold 250,000 copies, which in 1946 was an extraordinarily high number. Bertil Edgar Gärtner (13 December 1924 – 20 September 2009) was a Swedish Lutheran bishop of Gothenburg (1970–1991) and professor of New Testament exegesis at Princeton Theological Seminary, United States. Bertil Almgren (27 September 1918 – 4 March 2011) was a Swedish archaeologist and the son of Oscar Almgren, the country's first archaeology professor. Following Sune Lindqvist, he was a professor at Uppsala University from 1965 to 1984. Early life and education Almgren was the son of Oscar Almgren, Sweden's first professor of Scandinavian and Comparative Archaeology. Bertil Almgren was born when his father was in his 50s and going blind, and so as a child would read him scholarly texts out loud.
