Bernie Price
Bernard Burnice Price (September 20, 1915 – January 24, 2002) was an American professional basketball player. He played for the Harlem Globetrotters for many years. He also played for the Chicago Studebaker Flyers in the National Basketball League (NBL) during the 1942–43 season and averaged 9.0 points per game. His younger brother, Al Price Albert W. Price Sr. (September 8, 1917 – November 7, 2011) was an American professional basketball player. He played for the Harlem Globetrotters for five years. The National Basketball League (NBL) was a professional basketball league in the United States established in 1937. After the 1948–49 season, its twelfth, it merged with the Basketball Association of America (BAA) to create the National Basketball Association (NBA). Five current NBA teams trace their history back to the NBL: the Atlanta Hawks, the Detroit Pistons, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Sacramento Kings.
