Bernardo Daniel Romeo
Bernardo Daniel Romeo (born 10 September 1977) is an Argentine former footballer who played as a striker. He amassed Argentine Primera División totals of 226 games and 85 goals, mainly at the service of San Lorenzo with whom he had three spells. He also spent four seasons in Germany with Hamburger SV, in a 17-year professional career. Club career Born in Tandil, Buenos Aires Province, Romeo started his professional career in 1995 with Estudiantes de La Plata, playing exactly 40 Primera División matches. He blossomed as a top-rate player with San Lorenzo de Almagro, scoring 15 goals in only 17 matches in 2001's ''Clausura'', in an eventual league conquest. Romeo's performances caught the eye of German club Hamburger SV, and he continued to net at ease abroad, in two complete season plus two-halves, but came out empty in silverware (a DFB-Ligapokal notwithstanding). Tandil is the main city of the homonymous partido (department), located in Argentina, in the southeast of Buenos Aires Province, just north-northwest of Tandilia hills. The DFL-Ligapokal (, officially Premiere Ligapokal , previously DFB-Ligapokal ) or the ''German League Cup'' was a German football competition that took place before the start of the Bundesliga season, featuring the top five teams of the previous Bundesliga season and the winners of the DFB-Pokal in Germany. The cup was known as the Premiere-Ligapokal after 2005, when Premiere, a German pay television network, took up sponsorship of the competition. The Ligapokal was not held in 2008 due to schedule crowding caused by the UEFA Euro 2008. Instead, the German Supercup was held on 23 July. The Ligapokal was not held in 2009 either, due to the German Football Association's decision to abolish it. The Copa Mercosur (, , "Mercosur Cup") was a Association football, football competition played from 1998 to 2001 by the traditional top clubs from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile. The competition was created by CONMEBOL to generate TV money to the participating teams, but it went beyond and ended up, together with the Copa Merconorte, as natural replacement to the CONMEBOL Cup. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. The 2006–07 UEFA Cup was the 36th edition of the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Cup, Europe's second-tier club association football, football tournament. Odense Boldklub (; also known as Odense BK or the more commonly used OB) is a Danish professional football club based in the city of Odense, in southern Denmark.
