Bernard Aubertin
Bernard Aubertin () was a French artist born in 1934 in Fontenay-aux-Roses, France. He died in August 2015 in Reutlingen, Germany. He met Yves Klein in 1957 and joined the Zero movement during the 1960–1961 period. One of his texts, (″''Esquisse de la situation picturale du rouge dans un concept spatial''″) was published in the Zero magazine, vol 3. July 1961. He is known for his red monochromes (1958), paint and nails on panel, fire paintings, and performance arts. His works were shown at various major art exhibitions: Documenta 6, Kassel, Germany, 1977. 54th Venice Biennale, Italy, 2011. Palais de Tokyo, Paris, France, 2012. Fontenay-aux-Roses
Fontenay-aux-Roses () is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. In 1880 a girls school École Normale Supérieure was opened in the town. It was one of the most prestigious of Paris and even of whole France in term of scientific research. It became a mixed school in 1986, and was relocated to Lyon in 2000. Fontenay is the location of the Commissariat à l'énergie atomique, and former location of the first French nuclear reactor, Zoé, and the first French tokamak fusion experiment, TFR. Name The commune name originates from a local spring-fed stream (Latin ''fons'', French ''fontaine'') in the hillside descending from the Châtillon plateau, with "of roses" added to distinguish this commune from numerous French communes named Fontenay. The Mayor Gallery is an art gallery located in Cork Street, London, England. Since its foundation by Fred Mayor in partnership with Douglas Cooper in 1925, it has promoted modern and contemporary art. Since the early 1970s, under the new impulse given by James Mayor, Fred Mayor's son, the Gallery started to focus actively on the work of contemporary American artists from the Pop art movement but also Conceptual art and Abstract expressionism such as Eva Hesse, Roy Lichtenstein, Agnes Martin, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Ryman, Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol. The Musée d'art moderne et contemporain (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), or MAMC, is an art museum in Saint-Étienne, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. It was inaugurated as a separate museum in 1987. It has one of the largest collections of its type in France.
