Berl Eastman Priebe (May 31, 1918 – July 20, 2014) was an American farmer and politician. Born near Lone Rock, Iowa, Priebe was a farmer and livestock dealer. He served in the Iowa House of Representatives in 1968 as a Democrat and then in the Iowa State Senate. He died in Algona, Iowa Algona is the county seat of Kossuth County, Iowa, United States. There are 50 seats in the Iowa Senate, representing 50 single-member districts across the Iowa, state of Iowa with populations of approximately 60,927 per constituency, . Algona, Iowa
Algona is the county seat of Kossuth County, Iowa, United States. The population was 5,487 at the 2020 census. Ambrose A. Call State Park is located two miles southwest of the city. History Algona was founded in 1854 and was named after the Algonquian word for "Algonquin waters". Between 1869 and 1875 the community was the location of Algona College, an institution sponsored by the Methodist Church. In 1894, Algona, along with other Iowa communities such as Dysart and Wesley, became part of the project known as the " Orphan Trains". As New York City saw booming immigration, it also inevitably saw a rise in the number of orphans in its asylums. Unable to provide adequate care for them, it saw fit to ship nearly 100,000 westward to start a new life with families across America. Lone Rock, Iowa
Lone Rock is a city in Kossuth County, Iowa, United States. The population was 146 at the time of the 2020 census. The city is named after a large boulder. Lone Rock calls itself "The Neatest Little Town in Iowa." History Long before any settlement took place here, the unusual (175 ton) boulder was used as a landmark for travelers. Lone Rock was platted in 1899 when the railroad was being built through the neighborhood. In 1970, the lone rock was moved to the new location by blasting it into four pieces and reconstructing the pieces inside the community. Geography Lone Rock is located at (43.221359, -94.325090).
