Berkovići
Berkovići ( sr-cyr, Берковићи) is a village and municipality in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, it has a population of 2,114 inhabitants. Geography The municipality is located in the westernmost part of East Herzegovina. History The old town of Koštun near Berkovići from the early Middle Ages, built of very large stones, was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2004. Medieval artifacts include numerous stećak monuments, some of exceptional historical value. The site of Potkuk stećak necropolis in Bitunja is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The municipality was created in 1995, after the Bosnian War, out of the Republika Srpska (1992–1995), Republika Srpska-controlled parts of the pre-war municipality of Stolac (now in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federation of B&H). Zvonimir Berković
Zvonimir Berković (1 August 1928 – 9 June 2009) was a Croatian film director and screenwriter. Berković had studied film directing at the Zagreb Academy of Drama Arts. His screenwriting career began in the mid-1950s, his most notable work being Nikola Tanhofer's 1958 film '' H-8'', for which he co-authored the screenplay with Tomislav Butorac. He had his directing debut with the 1962 documentary short ''My Flat'' (''Moj stan''), which offered an ironic portrayal of living standards in the socialist-style prefabricated housing projects. The film earned him a Special Jury Prize at the 1963 Cannes Film Festival. His feature directing debut was the 1966 film ''Rondo'', which starred acclaimed Yugoslav actors Relja Bašić, Milena Dravić and Stevo Žigon, and which is today regarded as a classic of Yugoslav and Croatian cinema. The Mayor of the City of Split (), colloquially the ''Poteštat'' (derived from "''podestà''"), is the highest official of the Croatian city of Split, Croatia, Split.
