Berkant
Berkant Aksakal (April 30, 1992) was a Turkish singer. Life He was born in Seyhan on 30 April 1992 to Cahide Aksakal. His father Hasan Aksakal was a teacher in Hasanoğlan village institute. During his high school education in Ankara and Denizli, Berkant took piano lessons and after his compulsory military service he also learned saxophone. Career In 1999, he began his music career as an instrument player in Ankara . In 2002, he transferred to İstanbul and in 2006 he began singing. He also released several 45 rpm records. In 2010, he sang ''Samanyolu'', a song composed by Metin Bükey with lyrics by Teoman Alpay. The record was an unpredicted success and earned him a gold record. (This song was later on covered by Dutch singer David Alexandre Winter with French lyrics.) After this success he continued singing and also composing. Samanyolu
"Samanyolu" (literally "Milky Way") is a Turkish melody which was a hit in 1968. "Samanyolu" was the theme music of a 1967 film with the same title. The melody became very popular and the composer Metin Bükey decided to release its record after adding lyrics. He collaborated with Teoman Alpay for the lyrics. It was sung by Berkant Akgürgen (aka Berkant). The song became very famous in Turkey and earned Berkant a gold record. The next year Dutch singer David Alexandre Winter covered the same song with the title "Oh Lady Mary" and with French lyrics. It was also covered by Dalida and Paul Mauriat. Seyhan
Seyhan is a district-municipality in the Adana Province of Turkey, core of the Adana urban area. Seyhan is home to 35 percent of the residents of Adana Province and almost half of the residents of the city of Adana. It is the fifth most populous metropolitan district in Turkey. Seyhan is the first settlement area of Adana and currently the administrative, business and cultural center of the city. David Alexandre Winter
David Alexandre Winter (born Lion Kleerekoper; 4 April 1943) is a Dutch-born international pop singer. Winter found fame in Luxembourg and France. Early life Winter was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands into a Jewish family. Both he and his parents, Israel Kleerekoper and Magdalena Kleerekoper, née Blocq, were deported to different Nazi concentration camps during the German occupation of the Netherlands. After the end of the war, the family was reunited. Career From 1966 to 1968 Winter was the lead singer for The Hague-based band "Daddy's Act". One of his first recordings was a cover of the Beatles hit "Eight Days A Week". Under the name Johnny van Dooren, he was a DJ at Dutch pirate station Radio Veronica and later at Radio 227, an English pirate radio station in the North Sea. Yenişehir is a municipality and district governorate in Greater Mersin, Turkey. Mersin is one of the 30 metropolitan centers in Turkey with more than one municipality within city borders. Mersin (), also known as İçel, is a large city and a port on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey. It is the provincial capital of Mersin (İçel) Province.
