Bad Berka
Bad Berka () is a German spa town, situated in the south of Weimar region in the state of Thuringia. With its almost 8,000 inhabitants Bad Berka is the second biggest city in Weimarer Land district (after Apolda, 23,000). The river flowing through the town, which is embedded in new red sandstone, is called Ilm. Since 1 December 2008, the city has incorporated the former municipality of Gutendorf. Bad Berka is a spa town with an iron-rich spring and Kneipp facilities. In 2002 the award of "State Recognised Spa with Mineral Spring Health Facility" was given to the city. In order to treat tuberculosis, a clinic was erected in 1952. This was the beginning of the main economic sector of the city. Bad Berka's Zentralklinik has since gained a reputation as a center of medicinal expertise far beyond the boundaries of Germany. Its foundation can be traced back to 1898. Berka/Werra
Berka/Werra (also Berka an der Werra) is a town and a former municipality in the Wartburgkreis district, in Thuringia, in central Germany. Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the town Werra-Suhl-Tal. It is situated on the river Werra, 19 km west of Eisenach. Within the former municipality there are the following municipal districts: *Berka/Werra city center *Fernbreitenbach *Gospenroda *Herda (with Hausbreitenbach and Kratzeroda) *Horschlitt (with Auenheim-Rienau) *Vitzeroda (with Abteroda and Gasteroda) *Wünschensuhl History Within the German Empire (1871-1918), Berka/Werra was part of the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. Berka Of Dubá
Berka of Dubá () was a cadet branch of a Bohemian noble family of Lords of Dubá established by Hynek Berka of Dubá (1249–1306). It held estates in what is today the Czech Republic and Saxony in Germany throughout the Middle Ages. Ancestors This old Czech family separated from the family of the lords of Dubé and are thus one of the lines of the :de:Ronow (Adelsgeschlecht), Ronows. The Ronows derive their origin from Smil from Tuháně from the end of the 12th century. His sons Jindřich and Častolov are mentioned in the first half of the 13th century as brothers from Tuhán and Žitava, who acquired the region in the north from the monarch. They and their sons founded other family branches, e.g. the lords of Klinštejn, the lords of Lipá, the Lichtenburks and the lords of Duba (Berkov, Adršpach, Škop).
