Berit Backer
Berit Backer (August 3, 1947 – March 7, 1993) was a Norwegian social anthropologist and ethnographer, head of the Institute of Peace Research (PRIO) between 1978 and 1982 in Norway. Backer was a human rights activist who fought for Albanian national causes for much of her life. She published literature on Albanian family structures from studies conducted in the village of Isniq, in the Rugova valley of Kosovo. During her first visit to Albania in 1969, she became fascinated by the Albanians, and their culture and struggle for independence. She dedicated her research for a scholarly degree in social anthropology. Berit was fluent in Albanian. She published the book “Behind Stone Walls”, a social anthropological study of traditional Albanian society. It focuses on the formation and evolution of household and family structures among the Kosovo Albanians. Edvard Christian Danielsen
Edvard Christian Danielsen (14 April 1888 – 30 January 1964) was a Norwegian naval officer. He held the rank of Vice admiral in the Royal Norwegian Navy and was chief of the admiral staff in London during World War II. Personal life Danielsen was born at Mandal in Vest-Agder, Norway. He was the son of Daniel D. Danielsen (1842-95) and Margrethe Cecilie Jensen (1855-1939). He married Julie Lie Torjussen in 1915. Military career Danielsen started as a cadet in the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in 1906 and graduated in 1909. Danielsen entered the Royal Norwegian Navy and was in continuous submarine service from 1917 until 1936. He was appointed to captain in 1924 and was chief of the submarine division from 1934 to 1936. Tone Danielsen
Tone Danielsen (born 15 August 1946) is a Norwegian actress. She was an actress at Den Nationale Scene 1970–1971, the Hålogaland Teater 1971–1975, and from 1975 to the present at the National theatre. She appeared in the film ''Reprise'' She is the granddaughter of Edvard Christian Danielsen. Actor Anders Danielsen Lie is her son. Cultural anthropology is a branch of anthropology focused on the study of cultural variation among humans. It is in contrast to social anthropology, which perceives cultural variation as a subset of a posited anthropological constant. Ethnography
Ethnography (from Greek ''ethnos'' "folk, people, nation" and ''grapho'' "I write") is a branch of anthropology and the systematic study of individual cultures. Ethnography explores cultural phenomena from the point of view of the subject of the study. Ethnography is also a type of social research that involves examining the behavior of the participants in a given social situation and understanding the group members' own interpretation of such behavior. Rugova (region)
Rugova ( sq, Rugova or ; sr, Ругова, Rugova) is a mountain region located to the north-west of the city of Peja, in Kosovo. According to notes of Rugova it has been inhabited since before the 12th century. In 2013, it was designated a national park by the Parliament of Kosovo. Rugova is an ethnographically diverse region, with great importance for the literary branches of lexicology, etymology and onomastics. Rugova is a suitable region for hiking, skiing, mountaineering, paragliding, and picnics. It was ranked as the fourth most important center for winter sports by the International Ski Federation (ISF). Furthermore, in April 2013, Peja won the "Tourism for Tomorrow" award for the project, "Peaks of the Balkans". Albanian Language
Albanian (endonym: or ) is an Indo-European language and an independent branch of that family of languages. It is spoken by the Albanians in the Balkans and by the Albanian diaspora, which is generally concentrated in the Americas, Europe and Oceania. Enver Hoxha
Enver Halil Hoxha ( , ; 16 October 190811 April 1985) was an Albanian communist politician who was the authoritarian ruler of Albania from 1944 until his death in 1985. He was First Secretary of the Party of Labour of Albania from 1941 until his death in 1985. Paranoia
Paranoia is an instinct or thought process that is believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of delusion and irrationality. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself (i.e. ''"Everyone is out to get me"'').
