Kristian Bergheim
Kristian Bergheim (6 June 1926 – 30 May 2010) was a noted saxophonist, considered one of the few in Norway of international caliber. Biography Bergheim was born and spent most of his life in Bærum; he was brought up in Asker and in Stabekk. He played in a number of bands and orchestras before devoting his professional life to music, in 1948. He was repeatedly named best Norwegian saxophonist when such contests were common in the 1950s and 1960s. He led his own bands and orchestras starting in 1960, focusing mostly on swing. He won the highest Norwegian jazz award, Buddyprisen, in 1978 and the Gammleng-prisen in 1991. Because of a lung ailment, he retired in 1990. Bergheim was for some time married to noted singer and actress Anita Thallaug. He was a constant vassal and active supporter of the Emperor Frederick II. He was deposed by the papal legate, Petrus de Collemedio, with confirmation by Pope Innocent IV. Biography Rüdiger came from the Salzburg ministerial class of the Bergheimer. Since 1198 he had been a canon of Salzburg. From 1208 to 1211, he was a pastor of Salzburghofen, and until 1215 a Provost (religion), provost of the Augustine Monastery Zell am See. In 1215 he became a canon of Passau. Bergheim () is a municipality in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung in the state of Salzburg in Austria. The Plainberg with its Maria Plain pilgrimage church forms the border between Bergheim and the city of Salzburg to the south. History The area occupied by modern-day Bergheim has been constantly inhabited since Paleolithic times (10,000 B.C.), as evidenced by archeological finds on Muntigler Hill. Other finds from the Neolithic (3rd century B.C.) point to uninterrupted inhabitation of the area from prehistoric times onward. In the first century, B.C., the Celts began settling in the area. Bergheim () is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. It is a completely fortified town and has a late-medieval church, as well as surviving towers and walls. Bergheim (; Ripuarian language, Ripuarian: ''Berchem'') is a German town, 22 km west of Cologne and the capital of the Rhein-Erft-Kreis (district). The town's Niederaußem district is one of the most important suppliers for energy from lignites in Europe. Geography Bergheim is about 22 km west of Cologne, approximately 72 metres above sea level. Bergheim is an unincorporated community in eastern Kendall County, Texas, United States known for its German-Texan culture and heritage. It lies along State Highway 46 east of the city of Boerne, the county seat of Kendall County. Its elevation is 1,437 feet (438 m). Although Bergheim is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 78004; the ZCTA for ZIP Code 78004, consisting mostly of rural land, had a population of 1,183 at the 2010 census. The community is part of the San Antonio metropolitan statistical area. Bergheim is still a predominantly a ranching and agricultural community.
