Benny aka Benny Schnier is a German singer and actor who had a number of hits during the 1970s. The hits include "Du bist 16", "Amigo Charly Brown", " Skateboard (Uh-ah-ah)" and "Bin wieder frei". Background He was born Hans Jürgen "Benny" Schnier in Rahden, Germany. He has been a DJ, pop singer, radio and television presenter, program director, music director and actor. He was just sixteen years old when producer Frank Farian discovered him. His greatest success was in 1976 with the song "Amigo Charlie Brown" which reached number 14 in the German charts. Producer Frank Farian is responsible for some of his success. Career 1970s Working with producer Frank Farian, Benny recorded the song "Du bist sechzehn" ("Du bist 16") which was composed by Hans-Ulrich Weigel, Robert B. Sherman, and Richard M. Sherman. Rahden is a town in the far north of North Rhine-Westphalia between Bielefeld and Bremen and between Hanover and Osnabrück. Rahden is part of the Minden-Lübbecke District in East Westphalia-Lippe. Zachi Noy
Zachi Noy (; born 8 July 1953) is an Israeli actor. Early life Noy was born in 1953 in Haifa, Israel with the name of Yitzhak Novogruder. At a young age, Noy did stage work for the local Israeli theater "HaSadna" in Haifa. Later, he spent his military service in a military band. Career Noy gained much success after he played Yudale in the successful 1978 Israeli film ''Lemon Popsicle'' (''Eskimo Limon'') which became an Israeli cult film and was followed by a series of sequels. In the following decade Noy participated in all the sequels of "Lemon Popsicle" including a spin-off film called "Sababa". "Stakeboard" aka "Skateboard (Uh Ah Ah)" is song that became a 1977 single for German group Copains and a single for singer Benny Schnier. Both versions made the charts that year. It has been covered by a multitude of artists since the original release. The song had a resurgence of interest the mid-2000s. Overview The song Skateboard was written by Hans-Ulrich Weigel, Frank Farian, Stefan Klinkhammer, and Roland Kaiser. Along with " Amigo Charlie Brown" and "Bin wieder frei", "Skateboard" brought Frank Farian considerable success. With the kids riding around on skateboards and being noticed by Roland Kaiser and Frank Farian, an idea for a song came about.
