Bengies Drive-In Theatre
Bengies Drive-In is a drive-in theater in Middle River, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, with the largest movie screen remaining in the United States. History Bengies was opened on June 6, 1956 by Frog Mortar Corporation. It was designed by Jack K. Vogel as one of three drive-ins in the Vogel Theatre chain, and is still owned by the Vogel family, and showed entirely double features, with triple features on weekends . During the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, it was one of many drive-ins in the US used for Social distancing measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, socially distanced movie viewing and other events, and kept open after the summer ended; the theater rented in-car heaters to patrons. Benjys was the first low priced chain of sandwich shops in the United Kingdom. The first branch of Benjys was opened in 1989 in Islington by Paul Benjamin. The Benjamin family expanded the company offering low priced takeaway food, until it was sold for around £40 million in Aug 2000. The range of products included salads, yoghurts, hot food (such as hot sandwiches, jacket potatoes, pies and paninis), fresh fruit, Weight Watchers products, wraps, pastries, tea and coffee, an Atkins followers low-carb range, soft drinks, snack foods, and a range of bread products, including sandwiches, rolls, torpedoes and paninis. ''Engie Benjy'' is a British stop motion animated pre-school children's television show, broadcast on ITV's children's strand, CITV. The titular character is a blue-haired mechanic who fixes problems with the help of his friends and an assortment of living vehicles. He owns a dog named Jollop and drives a breakdown van named Dan. Other characters include Driver Dottie, Pilot Pete, Astronaut Al, Messenger Mo, Fisherman Fin, Farmer Fred and Trucker Troy. ''Ball Boy'' is a strip in UK comic ''The Beano'' and also the name of the main character. Strip History Ball Boy and his comic strip debuted in issue 1,735, dated 18 October 1975 featuring a five-a-side football team who usually lost all their matches. The strip was drawn by Malcolm Judge until his death in 1989. John Dallas took over from him afterwards, and drew it until his retirement in April 2003. The strip was then revamped and taken over by Dave Eastbury. Nigel Parkinson and Tom Paterson both occasionally draw the strip as well. In issue 3,481 (2 May 2009) a John Dallas reprint was used. For issue 3,260, dated 8 January 2005, the Ball Boy strip was meant to feature a French footballer called Henry Thierry who wore a red shirt.
