Benjamín Alvarado (born 2 September 1985) is a Chilean professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Alvarado was born in Santiago, Chile. He played college golf at Arizona State University, earning All-American honors in 2006 and 2007. Professional career In 2007, Alvarado turned professional. Alvarado has played on the Challenge Tour in 2008 and 2009; the Tour de las Américas, winning twice in 2011 Tour de las Américas, 2011 and finishing second on the Order of Merit; the Canadian Tour, finishing third on the Order of Merit in 2011 Canadian Tour, 2011; PGA Tour Latinoamérica, finishing 23rd on the 2012 Order of Merit; and the Web.com Tour, winning the 2013 Brasil Classic to earn his tour card. The Chile Open, or the Abierto de Chile, is a men's professional golf tournament that was first played in 1927. From 2013 through 2015 it was an event on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica. 2004 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2004 Eisenhower Trophy took place 28–31 October at Rio Mar Country Club in Río Grande, Puerto Rico. It was the 24th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 66 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team was due to play two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played on the River course on the third day and were due to play on the Ocean course on the final day. Heavy rain and lightning caused the final day to be abandoned and the event was reduced to 54 holes. The leading 36 teams had played their third round on the River course while the others played on the Ocean course. The United States won their 13th Eisenhower Trophy, nine strokes ahead of Spain, who took the silver medal. It was the 23rd World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 63 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team was due to play two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played on the Bunga Raya course on the third day and were due to play on the Palm course on the final day. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958 Eisenhower Trophy, 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. His maternal grandfather designed golf courses in Chile after emigrating from Germany and introduced Aguilar to the sport. He attended North Carolina State University in the United States on a golf scholarship, graduating with a degree in Business Management. Professional career In 2003, Tullo turned professional.
