Benjamin Schwartz (died 1981) was an American linguist, specializing in ancient languages and texts from the Middle East. He taught for a time at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. His main interests were Indoeuropean languages, Anatolian texts and languages (such as Hittite and Luwian), Judaeo-Greek hymns, and the Phaistos disk The Phaistos Disc (also spelled Phaistos Disk, Phaestos Disc) is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan civilization, Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete, possibly dating to the middle or late Minoan Bronze Age (second millennium BC). .... Benjamin Schwarz (born 10 July 1986) is a German footballer who most recently played for Preußen Münster, as a left back. Career Born in Munich, Schwarz began his career 1991 with SV Ludwigsvorstadt and played here four years before signed for SC 1880 München. He played for the youth team four years. In summer 1999, he was scouted by SpVgg Unterhaching, and later was signed by TSV 1860 München in the 2002–03 season. Schwarz made his professional debut in the 2. Bundesliga for 1860 Munich on 27 September 2007 when he came on as a substitute in the 87th minute in a match against Mainz 05. After only 22 games for TSV 1860 München, Schwarz left the team on 11 January 2010 to sign a loan deal over six months with SpVgg Unterhaching. Benjamin Shwartz
Benjamin Shwartz (born 1979) is an American-Israeli orchestral and opera conductor, and music director of the Wrocław Philharmonic known for his interest in and commitment to new music. Born in Los Angeles and raised there and in Israel, he attended the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California before enrolling in the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied composition with James Primosch. He continued his composition studies in Germany with Karlheinz Stockhausen. As a conducting student at the Curtis Institute of Music, he studied with Otto-Werner Mueller and worked closely with Christoph Eschenbach and Ned Rorem. Shwartz won numerous awards including the Presser Award, and Third Prize in the 2007 International Mahler Conducting Competition in Bamberg, Germany. Since 2022 he ist music director of the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, Koblenz (Germany).
