Benjamin Eze
Benjamin Ndubuisi Eze (born February 8, 1981) is a Nigerian-Italian former professional basketball player. He is a 2.08 m (6 ft 10 in) tall center. Professional career Eze was brought from Nigeria to Russia during the 1998-99 season, where he played in 1 game with Avtodor Saratov. After leaving Russia, Eze moved to the United States and signed to play with the University of Louisville Cardinals. However, Eze was declared ineligible because of the game in Russia for the 1999-00 basketball year. He then transferred to the College of Southern Idaho junior college, where he averaged 7.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He declared himself eligible for the 2001 NBA Draft but went undrafted. In 2011, he signed with Olimpia Milano. On February 6, 2014, he signed with Dinamo Sassari. Mens Sana Basket
Mens Sana 1871 Basket is an Italian professional basketball club based in Siena. It is a section of the sports club Polisportiva Mens Sana, founded in 1871. Under the name Montepaschi Siena, derived from sponsor Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, the club was a dominant presence in the Italian Serie A, winning five titles in a row from 2006–07 to 2010–11, besides two more titles later revoked by the Italian Federation, whilst also challenging for titles in Europe. 2006 FIBA World Championship
The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Japan Basketball Association (JABBA) and the 2006 Organising Committee. For the first time since 1986, the World Championship was contested by 24 nations, eight more than in 2002. As a result, group rounds were conducted in four cities, with the knockout rounds being hosted by Saitama City. Spain won the tournament by beating Greece 70–47 in the championship final. Spain won all nine games they played. Spain's gold medal in this tournament was the first medal Spain had ever won in a FIBA World Championship. Nigeria National Basketball Team
The Nigeria national basketball team represents Nigeria in men's international basketball and it is overseen by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). In March 2021, the global governing body FIBA ranked Nigeria as Africa's top men's basketball nation.
