Benjamin D. Wandelt
Benjamin D. Wandelt is a theoretical astrophysicist and cosmologist whose research focuses on the early universe, cosmic microwave background, and large-scale structure of the cosmos. Early life and education Wandelt earned his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Imperial College London. Career Wandelt has held faculty positions in the Departments of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Cosmic Microwave Background
The cosmic microwave background (CMB, CMBR), or relic radiation, is microwave radiation that fills all space in the observable universe. With a standard optical telescope, the background space between stars and galaxies is almost completely dark. Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel (; 22 July 1784 – 17 March 1846) was a German astronomer, mathematician, physicist, and geodesist. He was the first astronomer who determined reliable values for the distance from the Sun to another star by the method of parallax.
