Benidorm (series 5)
The fifth series of the ITV television series ''Benidorm'', which is a sitcom set in an all-inclusive holiday resort ( The Solana) in Benidorm, Spain, began broadcasting on 24 February 2012, consisting of seven episodes. The series was directed by both John Henderson and Sandy Johnson, though was written by Derren Litten, Steve Pemberton and Neil Fitzmaurice. The series saw the returns of Garvey family, consisting of Mick (Steve Pemberton), Janice ( Siobhan Finneran), Michael Garvey (Oliver Stokes) and Janice's mother Madge Barron ( Sheila Reid); swingers Donald ( Kenny Ireland) and Jacqueline Stewart ( Janine Duvitski); Noreen Maltby (Elsie Kelly); hairdressers Gavin Ramsbottom (Hugh Sachs) and Kenneth Du Beke (Tony Maudsley); Sam Wood ( Shelley Longworth) and Solana staff Mateo Castellanos ( Jake Canuso), Les/Lesley Conroy ( Tim Healy) and Liam Conroy ( Adam Gillen). Jake Canuso
Jake Canuso is a Swiss actor, who is known for his role in the ITV comedy series ''Benidorm'', in which he played the Solana barman Mateo Castellanos from 2007 until 2018. He also played Tony Peroni in the TV comedy series ''Scarborough'' alongside comedian Jason Manford in 2019. Personal life Canuso was born near Zurich, Switzerland, to immigrants from southern Italy. He moved to the UK when he was 18 years old. Canuso survived the Indian Ocean tsunami on 26 December 2004, whilst on holiday in Ko Phra Thong, Thailand. He climbed a tree after seeing the first waves, and was trapped underwater after the tree snapped. He developed aquaphobia and did not swim in water for several years. Career Previously a dancer, Canuso appeared dressed as a ballet dancer in the music video for " No More I Love You's" by Annie Lennox. He also appeared in the video of Kakko's 1990 song "We Should Be Dancing", JX's "Son of a Gun", Alex Party's " Don't Give Me Your Life", Carter USM's "Let ...
