Bengt Junker
Bengt Junker (21 June 1913 – 18 February 1970 Stockholm) was a Swedish Scouting notable, head of the Sveriges Scoutförbund from 1951 to 1956 and from 1958 to 1966. In 1951 he succeeded Lennart Bernadotte, and in 1958 he succeeded Gösta Lewenhaupt. He was the last Scout manager of Sveriges Scoutförbund, and became the first chairman of the Svenska Scoutförbundet, formed by the merger of the Sveriges Scoutförbund and the Sveriges Flickors Scoutförbund. Scouting or the Scout Movement is a youth social movement, movement which became popularly established in the first decade of the twentieth century. Lennart Bernadotte
Prince Lennart Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg (born Prince Lennart of Sweden, Duke of Småland; 8 May 1909 – 21 December 2004) was a Swedish-German landscaper, filmmaker, photographer and was a grandson of King Gustaf V of Sweden. He was also the eldest great-grandchild of King George I of Greece. He was born at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, to Prince Wilhelm, Duke of Södermanland, and Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia. At birth Bernadotte was a Swedish prince and was titled Duke of Småland. In 1932, he married Karin Nissvandt, an unequal marriage, and thereafter ceased to be a Swedish dynast. Thus, he was called ''Mr.'' Bernadotte as a result. Nineteen years after he lost his Swedish royal titles, he was given titles of nobility in Luxembourg. Vingåker Municipality
Vingåker Municipality () is a municipality in Södermanland County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Vingåker. The municipality has its present size since the local government reform of 1971. Geography Vingåker is an inland municipality but in spite of this has mostly low elevation. The lowest point is the shoreline of Hjälmaren at and the highest peak is at near the Östergötland county line. Kjesäter
Kjesäter is a manor in the municipality of Vingåker in the county of Södermanland in Sweden that now (2008) serves as a folk high school and hostel. During World War II, it served as a refugee camp and transit center for refugees fleeing Nazi persecution in Norway. Refugee camp and transit center The first wave of refugees to Sweden came from Norway on or after April 9, 1940. These included officials of the legitimate Norwegian government, political activists, especially communists, and some Jews who feared persecution. Many of these initial refugees returned to Norway when things appeared to stabilize. The Swedish government continued to grant asylum to political refugees throughout the war, and in 1942 groups persecuted for other reasons were also admitted by Swedish officials. Silver Wolf Award (Scouterna)
The Silver Wolf ( Swedish: Silvervargen) is the highest award made by Swedish Scouting, to active leaders at the national level for exceptionally meritorious work. The award consists of a stylized silver wolf with a fleur-de-lis with the words "Scouterna", suspended from a turquoise neck ribbon. The Silver Wolf will be distributed by someone who already holds the award. The Silver Wolf was established in 1920 for extraordinary contributions to Scouting. The original badge also meant that apart from being first-class, the Scout also passed tests for first aid and another 15 specific merit badges. When the 1935 World Scout Conference decided that each country would have a Silver Wolf as the highest award at the national level, Sweden chose to continue with the Silver Wolf but then changed so that the Svenska Scoutunionen (Swedish Scout Union) distributed it.
