Bengaluru North University (BNU) is a State university (India), state university located in Tamaka, near National Highway 75 (India), NH 75 in Kolar, Karnataka, India. The university was established in 2017 by the Government of Karnataka through the ''Karnataka State Universities (Amendment) Act, 2015'' trifurcating Bangalore University by creating Bengaluru North University and Bengaluru Central University (later Bengaluru City University). In India, state universities are run and funded by the State governments in India, state government of each of the states of India. Following the adoption of the Constitution of India in 1950, education became a State List, state responsibility. National Board Of Accreditation
The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) is one of the two major bodies responsible for accreditation of higher education institutions in India, along with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). NBA accredits technical programmes, such engineering and management programmes, while NAAC accredits general colleges and universities. NBA is a full member of the Washington Accord. Doddaballapura is a city and the district headquarters of Bangalore Rural district in the state of Karnataka, India. ''Dodda'' means "big" in the native language Kannada. It is an industrial city which houses several national companies, and lies 40 km away from Bangalore. The place is mentioned as Ballalapura thanda in a record dated 1598 from the local Adinarayana temple. It might have originated from the Hoysala name Ballala, and later become corrupted as Ballapura.
