Benasing Macarambon Jr.
Benasing Onayan Macarambon Jr. is a Filipino politician who served as representative of the Second District of Lanao del Sur, Philippines (1998–2007). In 2018, he was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte a Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority board member and director until September 22, 2022. Prior to being a legislator, on December 29, 1987, Macarambon was designated by then Secretary of Local Government Luis T. Santos as member of the ''Sangguniang Pampook'' (Regional Assembly) in Region XII. The said position was ceased as being abolished by the enactment in 1989 of ''Republic Act (RA) No. 6734'', setting the elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. As a legislator, he authored numerous House bills, among them an act granting the Muslim Development Multipurpose Cooperative a broadcast franchise (''RA No. 9171'') and another creating a secondary school in Sultan Gumander, Lanao del Sur (''RA No. 8912''). Lake Lanao
Lake Lanao (Maranao: ''Ranao'' or ''Ranaw'') is a large ancient lake in the province of Lanao del Sur, Philippines. With a surface area of , it is the largest lake in Mindanao, and the second largest lake in the Philippines and counted as one of the 15 ancient lakes in the world. Scholars have been pushing for the lake's inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Moro National Liberation Front
The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF; ar, الجبهة الوطنية لتحرير مورو) is a political organization in the Philippines that was founded in 1972. It started as a splinter group of the Muslim Independence Movement. The MNLF was the leading organization among Moro separatists for about two decades beginning from the 1970s. In 1996, the MNLF signed a landmark peace agreement with the Philippine government that saw the creation of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), an area composed of two mainland provinces and three island provinces in which the predominantly Muslim population enjoys a degree of self-rule. The Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (KAMPI), formerly known as the Kabalikat ng Mamamayang Pilipino, was a political party in the Philippines. Legislative and local elections were held in the Philippines on May 14, 2007. Positions contested included half the seats in the Senate, which are elected for six-year terms, and all the seats in the House of Representatives, who were elected for three-year terms. The duly elected legislators of the 2007 elections joined the elected senators of the 2004 elections to comprise the 14th Congress of the Philippines.
