Misimoa Benjamin Lam (born 9 June 1991) is a professional rugby league & former rugby union player who plays as a for Super League club Catalans Dragons. Born in New Zealand, he represented Samoa at international level after qualifying on ancestry grounds. Club career Rugby Union Lam played wing for Mitre 10 Cup team Auckland. He was selected for the Auckland and Blues sides in 2012. He played 12 games for Auckland after making his debut in 2012 against Hawke's Bay. He made one Super Rugby appearance for the Auckland Blues in 2012. Rugby League On 8 Aug 2024 it was reported that he had switched codes to join Catalans Dragons on a deal until the end on the 2024 season He left Catalans in December 2024 after failing to secure a first team place. Montpellier Hérault Rugby (MHR) (; ) is a French professional rugby union club, based in Montpellier, Occitanie and named after the Hérault department. Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It has previously included teams from Argentina, Japan, and South Africa. The Hawke's Bay Rugby Union (HBRU) is the governing body of rugby union in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. The union is based in Napier. The Hawke's Bay representative team are nicknamed ''The Magpies''. History The Hawke's Bay Rugby Union was founded in 1884. Auckland Rugby Football Union
The Auckland Rugby Union is a New Zealand provincial rugby union. The union was established in 1883 and was originally responsible for the administration of the sport in most of the former Auckland Province, although its boundaries have since shrunk to include only a portion of the Auckland urban area. The union governs the Auckland representative team, which has won New Zealand's first-tier domestic provincial competition 17 times, more than any other team. International Rugby Union Eligibility Rules
Regulations relating to the eligibility of players to play for national teams in rugby union, both in the fifteen-a-side game and rugby sevens, are the responsibility of World Rugby, the governing body for the sport. Players' eligibility to represent a country depends on whether they have a genuine, close, credible and established national link with that country. In principle, as soon as a player has represented a country internationally (has been "captured" by that country), they are no longer permitted to represent another country. However, a player is allowed to transfer to another country once, with approval of the World Rugby Regulations Committee, if the player is born in the country to which they wish to transfer or has a parent or grandparent who was born in that country. Super League (also known as the Betfred Super League for sponsorship reasons, and legally Super League Europe Ltd.) is a professional rugby league competition, and the highest level of the British rugby league system, which consists of twelve teams, eleven from Northern England, the sport's heartland, and one from southern France.
