Ben Johnson (basketball)
Benjamin Johnson (born December 23, 1980) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach for the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball of the Big Ten Conference. He played both football and basketball for the Northwestern Wildcats and Golden Gophers before becoming an assistant coach for several major college programs. Playing career Johnson led DeLaSalle High School to two Minnesota state championships and was a two-time first-team all state selection in basketball. He then played two years for the Northwestern University Wildcats before transferring home to the University of Minnesota, where he played his two final seasons for the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball, Golden Gophers and finished with 533 points in 59 games. Minnesota Golden Gophers Men's Basketball
The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represents the University of Minnesota in NCAA Division I college basketball competition. The Golden Gophers competes in the Big Ten Conference and play their home games at the Williams Arena. The Gophers had great success in the early years of basketball, but have been largely overshadowed by other programs since the end of World War I. In total, the Gophers have won nine Big Ten championships, but only four since 1919. College basketball research organizations have retroactively awarded Minnesota national championships in 1902, 1903, and 1919. The team has also had several instances of NCAA sanctions on the program that have affected performance and recruiting. Tim Miles
Timothy Sean Miles (born August 20, 1966) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team. Miles previously served as the head coach of North Dakota State University, Colorado State University and the University of Nebraska. Miles is a graduate of the University of Mary. Coaching career Early career Following his playing career at the University of Mary, Miles spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Northern State University, where the Wolves went to four NAIA II national tournaments and two national championship games. Travis Andrew Steele (born November 12, 1981) is an American college basketball coach, and current head basketball coach at Miami University (OH). He recently served as the head coach at Xavier. Jordan Bernard Murphy (born February 28, 1997) is a Puerto Rican-Virgin Islander professional basketball player for the Leones de Ponce of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He played college basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He is the all-time Golden Gopher career rebound and career double-double leader.
