Bello Dandago
Bello Dandago was a Nigerian politician that served as Chief Whip and later the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the First Nigerian Republic. Bello Dandago was born in 1908 in Kano and served as a classroom teacher, a radio broadcaster, active member of Nigerian People's Congress and a traditional ruler where he became one of the king makers in Kano Emirate. Education He attended Kano Provincial School (now Rumfa College, Kano) between 1922 and 1927 and proceeded to the famous Katsina Higher College in 1927 and completed in 1932. Nigerian People's Congress
The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) was a political party in Nigeria. The ANPP was a household party in the extreme north of Nigeria, primarily due to its mass appeal among more religious voters. It was the strongest opposition party, controlling seven of the nation's thirty-six states at one point. The party's biggest achievement in the 2003 election was its gubernatorial victory in Kano State where it defeated the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) to take control of one of the country's most populous states. Following the 2007 election, the ANPP challenged the victory of Umaru Yar'Adua, although it was announced on 27 June 2007 following talks, that the ANPP had agreed to join Yar'Adua's government of national unity. Rumfa College, Kano
Rumfa College is a high school located in the Northern part of Nigeria in Kano State, Founded in 1927 as a Kano Middle School (then changed to Kano Province School), it later was renamed to Government College Kano, and is now named Rumfa College, Kano. The name Rumfa came from the name of Muhammad Rumfa. Rumfa College, once one of the largest boarding schools in Northern Nigeria, no longer operates as a boarding school. The school is known for a large number of elites from the region who attended. Isa Kaita
Isa Kaita C.O.N., C.B.E., LL.D (ABU), LL.D (BUK), DPA (Oxon) (January 1912November 1994) was a Nigerian politician. He went on to hold the chieftaincy titles of the Madawaki of Katsina and later, the Waziri of Katsina. Prior to joining politics, he was a distinguished broadcaster at the BBC. In the 1950s and 1960s, he was a regional Minister for Works and Education in the Northern Region of Nigeria. Life and early career Isa Kaita was born in Katsina to a noble royal family: his father, Mallam Haruna was the Waziri of the Katsina Emirate, a title he would later hold as well. He attended Katsina Primary School (later named Barewa College) and later went to the Katsina Training College, a notable college attended by many politicians from the North such as Ahmadu Bello, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and Aliyu Bida.
