Belgica FC Edegem
K.V.V. Belgica Edegem Sport is a Belgian association football club from the municipality of Edegem in the suburb of Antwerp. It is currently playing in the first division of the regional league of the Antwerp province. History It was founded in 1908 as Sporting F.C. Belgica and it registered to the Belgian Football Association in 1910 to receive the matricule n°375. Between 1914 and 1924 the football team from this sports club was not active. At its come-back the club changed its name to Belgica F.C. Edegem. In 1930 Belgica played its first season in the second division. In its third season at that level, the club won its league and thus played in the first division from 1933, finishing 12th on 14. The next season the club was 14th and then played in the second division until World War II. The club had meanwhile changed its name in 1936 to K.F.C. Belgica Edegem. Edegem
Edegem (, first mentioned as ''Buizegem'' in 1173) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Edegem proper. In 2021, Edegem had a total population of 22,244. The total area is 8.65 km². The old Sint-Antoniuskerk (church of Saint Anthony) is no longer open to the public. It is not sure when it was first built (some sources go back as far as the 16th century). The absence of heavy industry makes Edegem a typical commuter town. Despite its location next to the metropolis of the city of Antwerp, Edegem is not fully urbanized. Belgian Provincial Leagues
The Belgian Provincial leagues are the lower leagues for Belgian football. Until 2016, these were at levels 5-8 in the Belgian football league system however as part of the reform an extra level was created causing the provincial leagues to drop to levels 6-9. The provincial leagues are divided into 9 regional league systems (one for each province, but Flemish Brabant and Walloon Brabant are merged and contain also the football teams from the Brussels Capital Region). Each league system is itself divided into 4 levels (except for Luxembourg where there are only 3). The number of leagues at each level depends on the province, but every province must have only one league at the top level. The Belgian Second Division was the second-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian Pro League. It was founded by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 1909 and folded in 2016, when it was replaced by the Belgian First Division B (known as the Proximus League for sponsorship reasons)). Jerome (; ; ; – 30 September 420), also known as Jerome of Stridon, was an early Christian priest, confessor, theologian, translator, and historian; he is commonly known as Saint Jerome. He is best known for his translation of the Bible into Latin (the translation that became known as the Vulgate) and his commentaries on the whole Bible.
