Bekzat Almakhan (Kazakh: Бекзат Алмахан, bekˈzɑt ɑlˈmɑˈhɑn; born October 8, 1997) is a Kazakh professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Background Bekzat Almakhan in 1997 on October 8 was born in the village of Akzhar in the southern part of Kazakhstan and grew up in the city of Taraz, where before graduating from school about 8 years he practiced Karate, and for a year and a half - Boxing. As an adult, the athlete moved to Almaty, where he subsequently began his professional career in MMA. He started playing sports in the 3rd grade and from 3rd grade to graduation, he practiced karate. After entering university, he became interested in MMА and started to train professionally. Taldykorgan (, , ; ), formerly spelled Taldy-Kurgan until 1993, is the capital (called an administrative center) of Jetisu Region, Kazakhstan. According to the 2010 Kazakh Census, the population is 143,407. The town was founded in the 19th century as the village of Gavrilovka and developed into the present city on the same site.
