Bekkelaget Tunnel
The Bekkelaget Tunnel ( no, Bekkelagstunnelen) is a long railway tunnel which carries two tracks of the Østfold Line past Bekkelaget in Oslo, Norway. Construction started 14 April 1955, after a landslide on 3 October 1953 had caused damage to the railway. The tunnel was built to allow for space for the road of Mosseveien. The tunnel opened on 7 October 1958. Bekkelaget Station was located on the section of track which was closed, and a new station was built at the southern mouth. It closed on 29 May 1983. Bekkelaget Station ( no, Bekkelaget stasjon) was a railway station on the Østfold Line. It was located at Nedre Bekkelaget in the Nordstrand borough of Oslo, Norway. It was originally situated from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) and received a station building designed by Peter Andreas Blix. It was named Bækkelaget until 1921. Bekkelaget was used as a commuter station. With the arrival of the railway, the lower portions of Bekkelaget could be built out with housing. After the Bekkelaget Slide on 7 October 1953 resulted in the Bekkelaget Tunnel being built past the station. It opened on 7 September 1958. Hauketo Station ( no, Hauketo Stasjon) is a railway station on the Østfold Line. It is located in the Hauketo neighborhood in the Søndre Nordstrand borough of Oslo, Norway. Situated from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), it features two side platforms. Hauketo is served by the Line L2 of the Norwegian State Railways's Oslo Commuter Rail, providing two to four services each hour. The station opened on 15 February 1925, after the Østfold Line had been moved to avoid the Ljan Viaduct. Its original wooden station building is now a pizzeria.
