Bekkefaret is a neighborhood in the city of Stavanger which lies in the southwestern part of the large municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Hillevåg, along the European route E39 highway. This part of the city is the location of the Stavanger University Hospital and Bekkefaret Church. There are two schools in Bekkefaret (Auglend and Ullandhaug), and sports clubs SK Jarl and Stavanger IF are vital parts of the local community. Hillevåg is a borough of the city of Stavanger which lies in the southwestern part of the large municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located southwest of the city centre, south of the lake Mosvatnet, and north of the borough of Hinna. Hillevåg was a part of the old municipality of Hetland until 1965. Bekkefaret Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the Bekkefaret neighborhood in the borough of Hillevåg in the city of Stavanger. It is the church for the Bekkefaret parish which is part of the Stavanger domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. Stavanger IF
Stavanger IF is a Norwegian sports club, best known for their handball team, based in Stavanger. The club also has a football team. In the 1980's and 1990's they played in the top Norwegian division and have won two Norwegian championships and silver medals 4 times. From 2000 to 2009 the senior men's team was in a union with Viking HK. When the team was relegated in 2009 from the top division, Stavanger IF decided to withdraw from the cooperation. Mosvatnet
Mosvatnet is a lake in the municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. The lake lies just west of the centre of the city of Stavanger in the Eiganes og Våland borough. At , it is the third largest lake in the city of Stavanger after Hålandsvatnet and Stora Stokkavatnet. The lake reaches a maximum depth of and it lies at an elevation of above sea level. The lake flows out through a small stream that runs through underground culverts to the Breiavatnet lake before emptying into the nearby Byfjorden. Reservoir Mosvatnet was Stavanger's main water source between 1863 and 1931. The Great Fire of Holmen in Stavanger in 1860 showed that the city had a weak water supply. In 1863, the city initiated the building of a new waterworks at Mosvatnet that both would give residents proper drinking water and better access to water for fire crews.
