Bekir Küçükay
Bekir Küçükay is a Turkish classical guitarist. He is one of the foremost guitarists in Turkey today. Life Küçükay was born in 1958 in Ankara. He started his musical life at age 9 on the mandolin. It was not until the age of 16, however, that he made his decision to devote his life to the guitar. Küçükay met Özer Ünal (a celebrated tenor sax player) in 1976 who was also at a turning point in his life and music. Under the influence of Ünal, Küçükay became interested in jazz and devoted himself to classical guitar. He graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Music in 1979. After this he completed a Masters Programme at İstanbul State Conservatory and then went on to do a Doctorate at Gazi University. Heitor Villa-Lobos
Heitor Villa-Lobos (March 5, 1887November 17, 1959) was a Brazilian composer, conductor, cellist, and classical guitarist described as "the single most significant creative figure in 20th-century Brazilian art music". Villa-Lobos has globally become one of the most recognizable South American composers in music history. A prolific composer, he wrote numerous orchestral, chamber, instrumental and vocal works, totaling over 2,000 works by his death in 1959. His music was influenced by both Brazilian folk music and stylistic elements from the European classical tradition, as exemplified by his '' Bachianas Brasileiras'' (Brazilian Bach-pieces) and his Chôros. Müjdat Gezen (born October 1943) is a Turkish theatre actor and writer. Private life He was born on October 1943 in Istanbul. He studied in Vefa High School where he met Uğur Dündar and Kemal Sunal, who became lifelong friends. After graduation in 1960, he continued in the theatre section of İstanbul Municipality Conservatory. He is married and father of Elif Gezen.
