The Beishan Old Western-style House () is a house in Jinning Township, Kinmen County, Taiwan. History The house was established in 1928. During the Battle of Guningtou in 1949, the house was occupied by the People's Liberation Army and was turned into a command post. Jinning Township () is a rural township in Kinmen, Republic of China. It is in the Taiwan Strait, on the coast of mainland China. It has a population of 27,307 and an area of . History In 1913, Sen-you Li () founded the Guning Advanced Elementary School (). In October 1949, today's Jinning Township was the site of the Battle of Kuningtou. Jinning Township was established in 1953. In 1999, the Kinmen County Government established a horseshoe crab conservation area of about 800 hectares in the tidal flat northwest of Guningtou (Ku-ning-t'ou, ). The Battle of Kuningtou or Battle of Guningtou (), also known as the Battle of Kinmen (), was a battle fought over Kinmen in the Taiwan Strait during the Chinese Civil War in 1949. The failure of the Communists to take the island left it in the hands of the Kuomintang (Nationalists) and crushed their chances of taking Taiwan to destroy the Nationalists completely in the war. Jinning Township
Jinning District () is one of seven districts of the prefecture-level city of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, Southwest China. The formation of the district was approved on November 24, 2016, after the dissolution of the former ''Jinning County'' () by the State Council.
