Beijing Chenjinglun High School
Beijing Chen Jing Lun High School (; BJCJL) is a public secondary school in Chaoyang, Beijing, China. History In 1919, there was a severe drought in northern China. Shimizu Yasuzo called on people to contribute funds for disaster relief and built a shelter for disaster children outside Chaoyangmen. He drove a carriage to the disaster area every day to adopt disaster children from village to village, with a total number of nearly 800. In order to save the unfortunate girls, Shimizu funded the establishment of Chongzhen Girls' Academy (崇贞女子学园) in the disaster-stricken area in 1921. As the founders of the academy, Shimizu Yasuzo and his wife Shimizu Miho worked day and night for the development of the academy. On May 28, 1921, Chongzhen Academy was formally established. With the founding of the People's Republic of China, the school was transferred to the Beijing Municipal Education Bureau to become a public school. Yasuzo Shimizu
was a Japanese educator and Protestant Christian missionary in China. He established the Chongzhen School for the poor in Beijing, and the Obirin University in Tokyo. General Yasuzo Shimizu was born in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, and became a Christians, Christian under the influence of William Merrell Vories, who was in Shiga as an architect and a lay missionary. He graduated from the Theological School of Doshisha University, Kyoto City, Kyoto, in 1916, and went to China as a missionary in the following year, first to Dalian, then to Tianjin, and finally to Beijing where he and his wife, Miho (), founded a girls' school for the poor. In 1924, Shimizu was ordained as a minister in Osaka City, Osaka, and went to U.S. to study at Oberlin College, Ohio, with the financial help of Magosaburō Ōhara, who went on to found the company that would become Kuraray. Chaoyangmen (; Manchu:; Möllendorff:šun be aliha duka) was a gate in the former city wall of Beijing. It is now a transportation node and a district border in Beijing. It is located in the Dongcheng District of northeastern central Beijing. Running from north to south is the eastern 2nd Ring Road. The Beijing Subway ( Line 6 and Line 2) has a stop at Chaoyangmen. Beacon high schools in Beijing () is a system used by the municipal government of Beijing, China to designate model high schools. Traditionally, some high schools in China have been statically designated as "key schools", which are associated with academic prestige and preferential resource allocation. Over the last decade, the municipality has been in the process of changing it into a ''beacon high school'' (示范高中) system, which is subject to specific criteria and periodic reviews. The long-term goal is to establish about 60 "large in scale, well-equipped and high quality" high schools, as examples of excellence.
