Behnam () is an Iranian / Persian masculine given name or family name, which translates as "distinguished, honorable, reputable, or acclaimed". The name is composed of two parts: ''bih'' (به, meaning "good" or "best") and nâm (نام, meaning "name or reputation"). The given name and surname is also found with Assyrian people, from the name of the Christian martyr Mar Behnam. There exists a famous monastery of Saint Behnam in north Iraq. It is also a Hebrew translation of "Shem Tov" meaning "noble" in Hebrew. Behnam Mahmoudi
Behnam Mahmoudi (, born April 25, 1980, in Meyaneh) is an Iranian former volleyball player, who capped for more than 8 years in the Iran National Volleyball Team of the year 1998–2006. His brother Shahram Mahmoudi is also a successful international player. Mahmoudi was famous for being the first Iranian volleyball player to ever play professionally outside of his country in a world top league when he signed for Perugia Volley in the first division of Italian Volleyball League, Serie A1. He was vice-chairman of the fourth City Council of Karaj . Behnam House
Behnam House is a historical building in Tabriz, Iran. The edifice was built during the later part of the Zand dynasty (1750–1794) and the early part of the Qajar dynasty (1781–1925), as a residential house. During the reign of Nasereddin Shah Qajar (1848–1896) this building was substantially renovated and embellished with ornamental paintings. The house consists of a main building, referred to as the ''Winter Building'', and a smaller structure, referred to as the ''Summer Building''. The ''Winter Building'' is a two-storey symmetrical construction standing on a basement. Rostin Behnam
Rostin Behnam (born February 16, 1978) is an American lawyer and government official who served as the 15th chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from 2021 to 2025. Initially appointed as a commissioner by President Donald Trump in 2017, he was later designated acting chairman in 2021 by President Joe Biden and subsequently confirmed as chairman for a full term. Before joining the CFTC, he held roles in financial regulation and policy.
